I've developed so many pet peeves. There hasn't been a day goes by that I don't encounter at least one.

Today:

Paper cut.

Addendum: Band-aid that crinkles around the edges because it doesn't fit perfectly on my middle finger.

(Middle-finger boo-boos are a plus though since I put on funky 90's inspired patterned bandages and call attention to it, thereby flipping someone the bird).

Crap radio.

Must all stations talk at the same time and play the same shitty songs the rest of the while?

I eagerly await tomorrow.

I've been obsessed with Sia, an Australian pop singer, since I heard her haunting Breathe Me (Series Finale Closing song to Six Feet Under), her videos are awesome particularly Buttons off her new album. Some People Have Real Problems boasts Academia. and I just cannot get over how cute/nerdy/altogether awesome this song is. Too bad I couldn't find a good Youtube video for it. She is singing it on a radio broadcast or something...

Has the cello now relieved the violin in playing the saddest music in the world? I must admit it is getting to be the popular choice to pull on the pathos. Slow tempo single chord piano? Move over. Twanging acoustic guitar strings? Next. Deeply rumbling, slowly crescendoing cello? Yum yum. It's definitely delicious. Yo yo Ma's sweeping score on Wong Kar Wai's Ashes of Time Redux was just utterly beyond beautiful. And now I've had Lykke Li & Mikael Karlsson's Until We Bleed playing non-stop when I find myself in that oh so angsty, self-induglent mood.Umm, no not emo. More like brooding without the aid of hormonal unpredictability.

Spotted: Birthday Girl in an UML (Unidentified Male Liplock) on Queen St. West, Saturday Night. Apparently, said Male is not so unidentified. He was previously spotted giving our Darling Coolbeans the big burn at the Yelle concert. Not to mention a not-so suave conversation with J and V. Added to the social misdemeanors were some beerbottle breaking. Can this crass chatter become a total prince charming to our beloved C? Only time knows. Speaking of which, C, clock's running out on the mystery. Care to inform us with the scoop on this RandomRandy, a name would even help. Oops! Looks like you don't even know that. Shame.

Lots of Luck, C.

XOXO

For what was considered to be the most depressing day of the year, it wasn't half bad.

Getting up at 6 in the morning in the bitter cold was kind of a suck but I just slept in the car the whole way through anyhow. I do remember snapping momentarily for the volume of the conversation din to lower, though.

The rest of the day was spent in bed. Toasty and away from chill just outside.  Well that was for most of the day. I had plans with my friend Yael to go catch a movie after class and I was really excited for that. It's been ages since we last saw each other. I wonder what she'll say about my hair. I do recognize it is long and is partly of what got me into my mopey mood all day.Oh, well. Jeck came to visit and help me while away a few hours on the Youtube. Dear TLC, how I've missed you. The band and the sentiment both.

We watched the latest episode of Ugly Betty, which I must say is by far my favourite. Anything that involves Betty assaulting Henry on the elevator after doing a run-jump while saying "Here's your care package" is tops for me.  Episode also had a lot of Amanda, and by gosh do I love her character. She even has a moral crisis, which she handles with dear dear Marc who is getting oh-so-much better at being incognito.

When Jeck left for class, I went for a soak. Splashing about in bathtub of water, listening to Radiohead and Stars has its way of calming me down exponentially and blocking out any veritable thought in the head region. Yael managed to double-book herself and she forgot that it was her sister's birthday. it was both cute and disappointing.

I managed to convince myself to skive off class in favor of my mental sanity. I guess it worked. Feeling a little bad-ass, no matter how nerdy, always feels good. Sad to find that the class was cancelled anyway. Hope the Prof Boss is okay. I took a nap instead.

Upon waking I was itching, just itching for a film. So I straightened my hair and my get-up and got myself ready to brave the outside world and hit SMIL. In the midst of it, Jeck called to see if I was still gonna ride with her to the bus downtown. I said yes but i need to go to SMIL and pick up a movie I wanted to see. She said she has to do the same. The same it was. We both wanted to watch In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar-Wai.

We ended up watching a late screening of Juno at the Varsity. This happened after a dinner at the Noodle Bowl with Matt and Jeck and an hour perusing BMV. Those two are great pick-me-ups. Hearts. To them I dedicate this verse by Barry Louis Polisar who sang the the tune for the Juno Soundtrack.

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

Boredom is the only way that things get done. Here is one happy incident of me playing with the Photobooth on my new mac, which I have dubbed Mactor...sure it is not as creative a name as Mackenzie or Maxwell, but it was the first thing that came to mind and it bears my name..although I did give Macthilda a good mulling-over. Sadly, Mactor does not look like Macthilda, so it stuck with that. Nehoo, i was being a total MacDork and playing with the on-comp camera as soo many people do. Evidently people love to see their warped reflections, and I guess I am no exception. EXCEPT, I decided to make O-faces. Sure I played with the Mirror and the Twirl but the Light Tunnel seems to work best with the visage of a good ol' orgasm...

Mactor asks if it was as good for me, as it was for him...Of course not, I was faking it.

Have I really gone for months without sharing pictures? People on Facebook have been outraged (and yet understanding) but the Content License on that site is way beyond ridiculous. But I guess that is what you get with mass uploads of snapshots and albums of basically the same smiling face just 60 times over and over with variations on time and place (or so they say...)

I think I might use Livejournal/Scrapbook from now on. Though not to the same extent that I used Facebook. Editing will now play a large. So if you see me with my camera, make it pretty!

Anyhoo, here is Joy. Being classy as all get out.
